Artist Nate Sheppard
Multimedia artist and composer Nate Sheppard returns to Project North with a brand new immersive and interactive art installation focused on the dynamic nature of sound. The installation will provide festival attendees the opportunity to interact with an ever-evolving melodic soundscape in a carefully designed spatial art experience. You’ll have to hear it to believe it!
About the Artist
Nate Sheppard is an award-winning composer and filmmaker and multimedia performing artist based in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. He was the 2019 recipient of the Northern Arts Council’s Individual Artist Grant and has worked on a wide range of projects including directing and composing music for two feature-length documentaries, creating an online arts festival, producing cinematic poems and dance films, and designing multimedia art installations and performances.

The Cybernetic Forest was a 10-minute immersive multimedia short film that debuted at the 2022 Project North Festival. Utilizing projected video, dynamic lighting, surround sound and an original soundtrack, the film that explores the tenuous and complex relationship between technology and nature.
