DIG DEEP is a four-piece string band based out of Wisconsin that has in a very short time become a truly unique voice and a cornerstone of the thriving Midwest roots community. Dig Deep is Alex Dalnodar (guitar & vocals), Peter Pagel (bass & vocals), Oscar Noetzel (banjo, accordion, & vocals), and Bob Weigandt (mandolin & vocals).
Through tireless full-time touring throughout the upper Midwest and across the country, the release of an acclaimed debut album, numerous high-profile festival and theater appearances, as well as the organizing of Indianhead Mountain’s annual Mountain Top Festival, Dig Deep has earned love from fans, respect from musicians, and rapport with venues and events with their well-honed, hard-edged sound and their boisterous, dynamic performances.
Following up on the release of their eponymous debut, Dig Deep is unleashing an offering on vinyl that is as ambitious in scope as it is in sound, and that’s anything but bluegrass. The Lotta Morgan chronicles one of the most storied unsolved murders in Wisconsin history: the killing of a beloved Silver Street actress in the infamous hell-town of Hurley during the days of the great Northwoods mining boom. With characteristic vision, craft, and clout, the four-piece group firmly establishes their ground outside the realm of conventional Americana while exploring sonic and literary territory that plumbs the depths of power and weight.
