Brett Schwartz is a singer-songwriter based in Three Lakes, Wisconsin, where the summers are lively and the winters are long and contemplative.
Inspired to write songs in late 2014 after a friend’s passing, he has spent the past five years building the courage to share them with the world. His music is chameleon-esque, blending more traditional folk styles from the likes of Paul Simon and Gregory Alan Isakov with the sonically peculiar underbellies of Radiohead, Bon Iver, and Sigur Rós. The result is “old soul folk” – a genre focused on music as a cathartic healing modality and deep psycho-spiritual lyrics that outline the nuances of the human condition.
